Welcome to Infinite Arms! We are a no word count, character driven, AU Marauder Era roleplay set in November 1980. No one is safe and no one side can claim to be innocent. The Dark Lord has recruited many to his cause, creatures of all types have been attacking citizens and with each passing month the murders and disappearances have increased. Albus Dumbledore is fighting back. He has recruited a select group of talented young witches and wizards to fight against the darkness that threatens the world--but will they be able to resist succumbing to darkness themselves?
November 1980
Much Snow. Very Blizzard.
Full Moon: Saturday 22

The beans cookies this month are Chocolate Chip and Madeleine. Can you earn them both?

Following a chilly Halloween, November has landed with some decidedly harsh weather. Winter is here early and it looks like it is going to stay. With unusually heavy snows buffeting the isles, life has slowed to a crawl. It is all anyone can do to keep warm, and it is even worse for those without a home as the Hogsmeade refugees at Hogwarts still can’t go home—and how can the town hope to be rebuilt when it is buried in snow? Of course things must get done, but what sort of mischief can our enemies get up to when everyone is hiding inside?

Last but not least, here are some prompts for this month!

Maeve was not going to let her sixth month of pregnancy get in the way of doing what she needed to do. Just because she was approximately 85x her normal girth didn’t mean she was useless. In fact she noted the looks of alarm she was given by the men who wanted her to sit down and maybe rest a little and considered some later revenge. Preferably when she was on maternity leave and wouldn’t have to suffer their pouting.

It was for this reason that she was glad to be accompanied by Willa, for as a woman she was at least sensible to the fact that pregnancy did not spell the end of a woman’s life. All the same even Willa seemed wary of her growing stomach which only encouraged Maeve to lengthen her strides as they crossed the ground to reach Hogwarts castle.

“Hurry up!” She said, waving at Willa to pick up the pace. It was unfair since the one concession she had made to the younger woman was that she could carry the majority of their supplies. Even minimized and packed in a case they were more than a little heavy.

When they reached the courtyard they found it had been cleared earlier that morning but with the heavy snows continuing to fall it was already starting to pile up again. It also made the worn stones something of a deadly skating rink and after a skid Maeve slowed her pace, picking her way across until she reached the doors. When they did not immediately open to her august presence she lifted her fist and began to pound on them.

“Open up, it is freezing out here!” There were at least five people who would kill her if she caught cold and Maeve was not intending to give them the satisfaction.

“You realize that you are insane, yes?” Willa said as she closed the space between she and Maeve. She never should have agreed to this venture knowing that the woman was as pregnant as she was. They shouldn’t have been traipsing around in the snow. Maeve should’ve been home in front of a fire and Willa should’ve been back at the hospital for her third or fourth twelve hour shift in as many days. She was honestly losing count a this point. Disasters like this didn’t leave anybody faring particularly well.

“Perhaps this is a sign that we ought to just turn back.” That didn’t seem to her like a completely terrible idea. Normally she would’ve suggested they go get some tea or something, but with the village closed she was really just suggesting that they leave altogether. Somehow she imagined that Maeve would not accept that request and Will nearly groaned as she finally came to a stop just beside the other woman in perfect time for the doors to swing open for her to do even more walking. She couldn’t help but sigh as she picked up the bags again and press forward.

She wasn’t exactly sure what they were going to find, but she was willing to bet more than a couple of people were going to need their attention that afternoon. Willa had been brewing pepper up for days at this point, refreshing her personal stores for trips like these. She had the set up and ingredients necessary form her other – business ventures and Maeve either knew and didn’t feel like asking at all or hadn’t thought on it. Knowing how smart she considered the other woman the be, she guessed it was the former.

“I don’t believe in insanity,” Maeve said tartly. That this was categorically not true was beside the point. The fact was that going outside in a snow storm wasn’t insanity, it was merely ill advised, and really, it was not the worst thing she’d ever done. At least she’d never harboured notions of taking her show on the road and living out of a wagon for five years.

She liked having a house, and a proper bed, and a kitchen even if Caradoc hardly let her use it. Most of all she loved having her privacy and the ability to just tune out of the world if she needed to. They were the things that the people currently being forced to make their homes at Hogwarts were lacking. They had food and shelter, but without those personalized touches life was not what it could be.

“You didn’t have to come with me,” she pointed out, “I could have brought a cadre of trainees. You know how they adore field trips. “ And getting lost on field trips, of course.

At least it was warm in side the castle. Maeve stopped to kick the snow off her boots just inside the doors and looked around to see if anyone was going to come great them. No one popped up which meant they’d have to find their own way around. “Let’s go to the Great Hall, first. We can get directions to where the worst off are. On our way we’ll stock up their supply of Pepper Up.”
